Dr. Gokce Bulgan is an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology with 19+ years of theoretical and applied experience, a Counseling Psychologist in private practice with more than 10,000 hours of psychotherapy experience, and a Workplace Mental Health Consultant focusing on improving mental health and emotional well-being in remote teams. She has received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bogazici University, and her Ph.D. degree in Counseling Psychology from Purdue University. Gokce has worked as an adjunct faculty at Bogazici University and as a faculty member at MEF University. She is currently teaching graduate level courses at MEF University. Gokce is the author of numerous scientific publications on psychological well-being and work-life issues, and the co-author of the book “Happiness 2.0” [Elma Publications] – a research-based guide to increasing one’s mental and emotional well-being by evidence-based tools. She has worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds and industries, helping them thrive in both their professional and personal lives, growing to their full potential. Gokce has provided counseling and training services at several institutions including Purdue University Counseling and Guidance Center, Family Services Community Mental Health Center, and University of Washington Student Health Center. As a therapist, in addition to providing psychotherapy, she has specialized training in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Approaches, Breathwork, and Hypnotherapy. She is the founder of Lumina Counseling and Training, in which she provides online counseling, personal leadership consulting, and mindfulness-based corporate training services in English and Turkish. Gokce has been using mindfulness practices with her clients after experiencing the benefits of mindfulness and meditation for herself. She believes in the power of meditating daily and is excited to share the SIY knowledge and experience with everyone.
