Biography

Chris Borland is a teacher with Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, a former professional American football player with the NFL's San Francisco 49ers, and a Fellow at The Center for Healthy Minds at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin.

Chris was an All-American linebacker at Wisconsin and a top performer in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers. He has since worked in brain injury advocacy, mental health, and documentary film production. Borland's career stops include The Carter Center, The Center for Healthy Minds, The Players Tribune, and ByUs Media. His first film, 'Requiem for a Running Back', premiered on Amazon Prime in December 2023.

In 2017, Chris teamed up with Dr. Richie Davidson of The Center for Healthy Minds to lead a first of it's kind mindfulness pilot program with retired NFL athletes. Since then, Chris has been teaching mindfulness and introducing Search Inside Yourself programs to current and former athletes, corporate clients, military veterans, professionals in the tech industry, educators, and non-profits.

Borland has a passion for introducing content and practices that relieve stress, improve performance, and support team effectiveness. His focus is on high achievers in demanding professions, specializing in introducing programs to novel populations.

He lives in Madison, Wisconsin with his girlfriend, Bri, and their English Lab, Bruce.
