Rich Fernandez

Rich Fernandez

Rich is the CEO of SIYLI. He was previously the director of executive education and people development at Google, where he was also one of the first SIY teachers.

Rich previously founded Wisdom Labs and has also served in senior roles at eBay, J.P. Morgan Chase and Bank of America. He received his PhD in Psychology from Columbia University and is a frequent contributor to the Harvard Business Review.

Before launching Wisdom Labs, Rich was the head of executive education at Google, responsible for leadership development content, tools and programs for senior leaders.  He also led some of the efforts focused on employee well being at Google. Rich was also previously head of learning and organization development at eBay, and prior to that he was a learning and leadership development executive at Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase & Co.

Rich was trained as a psychologist and received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and M.A. in Organizational Psychology both from Columbia University. Rich received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at San Diego. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and son.

Tunde Reis

Tunde Reis

Tunde Reis is the founder of Firstworld Ventures Ltd (FVL) - a company registered in the United Kingdom (UK).  FVL aims to facilitate skills and techniques that unleash human potential\, with a view to enhancing organizational productivity and wellbeing. The company provides training services in emotional intelligence\, self-leadership\, mindfulness\, coaching and human potential development for corporate and individual clients\, especially in the UK and West Africa (www.fw-p.co.uk). ‘Tunde is a frequent speaker at various professional events and a certified facilitator of emotional intelligence from the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI). He was the lead facilitator on Urbanisation and Leadership for the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON). Dr Reis has also been a guest lecturer on emotional intelligence, real estate and transformational leadership at the Lagos Business School. He is also the founder of First World Communities Ltd, a company focused on large-scale development of affordable housing and associated infrastructure in Nigeria and West Africa (www.firstworld-communities.com). An accomplished architect and housing practitioner, Dr Reis is a consultant to private and public organisations. He has served on several committees with housing, physical planning and urban development mandates, for states and federal government. Retired from the Nigerian Army as a Brigadier General, he is a non-executive director in other companies and non- profit boards.

Gen Reis (rtd) served as Executive Chairman of the Federal Housing Authority, where he received official commendation for his initiatives from the President of Nigeria.  While
in military service, he conceptualised and implemented the Nigerian Army Housing Scheme -
a retirement housing scheme for officers and soldiers. Under his leadership, the Scheme delivered over 2,000 housing units in 24 estates across Nigeria without funding from government. Gen Reis also established a mortgage bank and obtained an operating license to support the
Scheme.  He was pioneer Chairman of the Army Welfare Holdings and also Managing Director of the Nigerian Army Properties Ltd. He is the founder of Cooperative Villas Badore, a pioneer
housing cooperative in Lekki Peninsula, Lagos State, considered to be one of the best of its kind in West Africa. His track record as a housing expert includes initiating the Cooperative Home Ownership Incentive Scheme (CHOIS), an incorporated partnership between First World Communities Limited and the Lagos State Government of Nigeria, which has delivered over 1,000 affordable new homes,
under the Lagos CHOIS Limited Partnership.

A fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, he obtained a PhD in Housing Studies from the Architectural Association School of Architecture
in London. He holds a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD) in the United Kingdom and he is a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) in the United States of America. He has a master's degree in Environmental Design (Architecture) and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies, both from the University of Lagos. He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School and the London Business School. He was a member of the African Union for Housing Finance (AUHF), the International Union for Housing Finance (IUHF) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (UK).

Gen Reis (rtd) received the highest medal for unblemished long service, the Grand Service Star (GSS), the Chief of Army Staff's Commendation, the "Distinguished Alumni of the Lagos Business School" award, two national honours - the National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) and Officer Order of the Niger (OON). He is a Fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network and Africa Leadership Initiative West Africa (ALIWA). ‘Tunde is married to ‘Yinka, a registered Pharmacist in the UK and Nigeria, they now work together as human potential development facilitators.
