Lisa Malinowski

Lisa Malinowski

Lisa, born in Flint and a Michigan native, learned the practice of yoga and meditation while studying abroad in the Netherlands during her time at Michigan State University, where she received her Bachelors in Hospitality Business. After moving to New York City and working as a Manager at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, her passion for community, health and mindfulness lead her back to Michigan to become a full-time mindfulness and yoga educator with the Crim beginning in 2017. She is a nationally Certified Yoga Instructor (ERYT) with over 1000 hours of teaching yoga, a Yoga Ed. Trainer, a Certified Children's Instructor (RCYT) and a Certified Yoga Education Provider (YACEP). Lisa has trained with mindfulness and yoga leaders in the industry all over the world including Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, Mindful Education, Transformative Educational Leadership and Shiva Rea, and she continues to develop and grow in her personal practice locally. As a runner, yoga practitioner and social justice advocate, Lisa believes that yoga should be a compassionate and community centered practice that is inclusive and approachable for anyone. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking and playing outdoors as often as she can.

Sarah Sullivan

Sarah is passionate about community health and wellness. She leads a Mindful Communities Initiative at the Crim Fitness Foundation in Flint, Michigan - engaging the education, health, business, and civic sectors to co-create a healthier, more mindful and thriving community. 

She was born and raised in a small town between Flint and Detroit, studied for years in Thailand and Germany and then spent a decade in Seattle, WA before returning to her hometown in 2016 with her husband and twin daughters. She often draws upon the lessons learned during her time as a Youth Development Faculty at Washington State University and at
the Washington State Department of Education leading a CDC funded school health
initiative.  She has a M.A. in Organizational Design and Systems Thinking from Seattle University.
