Practical skills to build an environment based on trust, psychological safety, empathy & inclusion, leading to improved team performance. ​

Based on neuroscience, mindfulness and behavioral research, this 3-hour program offers practical skills, resources and tools to help individuals and teams: 

  • Deepen awareness and understanding of others
  • Build non-reactive communication skills
  • Promote team interactions that create a learning community
  • Optimize team engagement, agility and effectiveness
  • Build a culture that fosters trust, inclusion and leverages diversity

A practical, experiential and highly interactive program presenting tools that they can apply immediately within teams and organizations.

Overview

Current behavioral science, neuroscience and corporate research shows that when it comes to optimal team performance what really matters is less about who is on the team, and more about how the team works together. A research group within Google identified psychological safety as the leading indicator of team effectiveness and high performance. Specifically, individuals and teams work best in an environment where they feel:

  • Included
  • Safe when learning something new
  • Comfortable making contributions
  • At ease when challenging the status quo
  • Without fear of being embarrassed, marginalized or punished in some way


Program Structure

"Effective Teaming" is a 3-hour interactive program can be offered as a live online or in-person experience.

Lori Schwanbeck

Lori has been teaching SIY internationally since 2013 to diverse clients in: technology, professional sports, manufacturing, retail, education, and humanitarian organizations. In addition to teaching SIY, she is a mindfulness based psychotherapist dedicated to helping people create lives of meaning and well-being. Lori coaches individuals seeking to increase their level of social and emotional intelligence in their professional and personal lives. Lori understands the challenges and opportunities of bringing secular mindfulness into various work environments as she draws upon her background in marketing for multi-national companies and small businesses. Lori practice is supported by time in nature.
