Senior Full Stack Developer

The Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI), an independent 501c3 non-profit organization based in San Francisco, is looking for a part-time contract hire to serve as our Full Stack Web Developer. 

This person will support ongoing maintenance and development of our program delivery platform (, in addition to supporting other technical needs of the organization, such as:  workflow automation, tech support for staff related to technical platforms (Zendesk, Crowdin, SalesForce, etc.), and minimal support to help maintain our public website (

This position reports to the Director of Product Development and can be located remotely as long as there is a sufficient overlap of working hours to accommodate occasional meetings and reasonable response times.

Estimated average time is 15 hours per week - some weeks slightly more, some slightly less, depending on development projects and deadlines.

The Developer position is a virtual contractor role, so you’re welcome to work from any location.

  • Time investment: ~ 15/hrs per week (+/- depending on development projects) 


  • Implement features and fix bugs on my.siyli platform, including:
    • Write & review code (Ruby on Rails) to improve platform 
    • Monitor alerts
    • Debug errors
    • Keep dependencies up to date
  • Support external users (teachers + participants) on my.siyli, including:
    • Monitor & respond to incoming Zendesk tech support tickets
    • Manage and update permissions 
    • Propose new features and updates
    • Write and update helpdesk articles
  • Technical integration and support for Crowdin translation platform, including:
    • Prepare my.siyli content for translation
    • Manage files on S3 (audio, slides)
    • Sync my.siyli with Crowdin (and manage technical support, as needed)
    • Test new translations and push live
  • Help maintain other internal technical systems
    • Staff support for technical systems (e.g. Zendesk)
    • Support for integration between (website) and my.siyli (platform)
    • Pull data reports from my.siyli platform, as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience

  • Experience or interest in mindfulness and emotional intelligence a plus 
  • Fluent in English
